Dropped panels give more cushion to the shoulder area without impeding movement. This model is suitable for such horses as Warmbloods, Thoroughbreds and others with similar conformation. The Ellipse D1 saddle (click picture to see the D1 version) is designed for the broad shouldered flatter backed breeds such as the Arabian, Morgan and cob types. It has a hooped tree being more open in the pommel area, a flatter profile in the panels to accomodate the broader backed horse. Both models feature a deep central seat with a sculptured waist for the ultimate in close contact for the rider. Extended stirrup bars or 3 position adjustable stirrup bars place the legs in a correct position. Pure wool stuffed close contact panels with moderate knee rolls blending into a sculptured channel which allows the rider’s thigh bone to "fall away" effortlessly from the pelvis. A choice of flap lengths and custom options are available at additional cost. Long billets are standard but 6 short billets can be custom ordered (contact us for details of costs on custom options).
